Myself and my wife moved...Excellent article thanks. Myself and my wife moved to the Limousin in 2005. The first 2 years the only real integrating we did was with French staff at the bricolage firms during the initial refurbishment phase of our property.<br /><br />We did make some friends in the local village/tabac/bar but due to our funds we weren't able to do agreat deal of socialising.<br /><br />Fortunately by year three we were able to back off the renovation and "get out a bit" plus a French couple moved into the empty property our house shares a tiny hamlet with. We became very firm friends. They help us with our French and we help them with their English. We have had some superb soirees indeed.<br /><br />As the article mentions the only times I really thinking about moving back to the UK are due to language problems - particularly during trying times (illness and hospital type situations) when it is just so complicated having to have more than basic conversational language skills.<br /><br />Every day I look out of my open office window (I work from home running a website for <a href="http://www.LetsRentPropertyInFrance.com" rel="nofollow">rental property in France</a> ) and take a good look at the stunning view, smell the fresh air and think, it's not all bad!Stevehttp://www.letsrentpropertyinfrance.comnoreply@blogger.com
